The difference between MRI and CT scans for an accurate body scan: What's the best option?

A body scan, also referred to as a health check or total body scan, is a type of preventive medical examination. The main objective of such an examination is to detect risk factors and possible illnesses before they become serious. While a body scan can be done at any time and location without the need for a referral, a blood test can be a valuable tool in identifying underlying health issues.

Get immediate insight into your health! The examination takes place in one of our clinics in one day. Your MRI results and images will be available in your online portal after the examination, bloods will follow 24 hours later and easily accessible from anywhere, at any time.

MRI scan vs CT scan

A CT scan, like an MRI scan, involves taking sections of the human body. Whereas an MRI scan uses a large magnetic field and radio waves, a CT scanner uses X-rays. An MRI scan should be replaced by a CT scan or ultrasound (ultrasound) if there is a pacemaker, insulin pump, inner ear implant or electronic neurostimulators (such as a TENS). In addition, bones pose a problem for the MRI due to their high calcium density, and can therefore be better imaged by a CT using X-rays.
