Standard laboratory examination
The male hormone check is an additional examination to our standard laboratory examination. If you choose an additional examination, you will book it in combination with a standard laboratory examination. The laboratory examination provides important information about your health situation. Blood values, liver and kidney function, any risk factors for cardiovascular disease and tumor markers are charted. In addition, the overall composition of your blood, or blood count, is examined.
Male hormones
The most important male hormone is testosterone. This is produced in the testicles and causes growth, male sex characteristics, but also affects energy levels and muscle growth. In addition to testosterone, LH (luteinizing hormone) and SHBG (sex hormone binding globulin) also play an important role in male hormone metabolism by transporting the other hormones. These hormones are examined with this hormone check.
