Examinations
Can you determine a function by having a scan?
Do I really want to know?
If, during the examinations nothing is found, can I be sure that I am completely healthy?
Isn’t there too much to be seen in the scans, after all, nobody is perfect?
Question:
Isn’t there too much to be seen in the scans, after all, nobody is perfect?
Answer:
A scan is very accurate. Due to this, it does in many cases occur that something is shown that is absolutely not related to any illness whatsoever. This is also known as ‘noise’ or ‘false –positive’. A typical example here is scar tissue. The specialists’ assignment is to separate the findings that may pose a risk from those that are unimportant. They have to give a correct interpretation of the pictures. Preventive Examination is a specialization on its own. If anything is found to be suspect, a follow-up examination can be done immediately or within a very short term.
