Total Body Scan ®The Total Body Scan provides a complete picture of your whole body. During this examination the vital organs and blood vessels are examined. In order to obtain the best possible picture of your body, we recommend the supplementary Cardio-Plus programme as well as the extensive laboratory tests of blood, urine and other factors that may play a role in your personal situation (see prices). Scans alone give a lot of information about the internal structures, but not, for example, about the functioning of organs , such as the heart, liver, thyroid glands and the kidneys. All of the results are analysed by a team of specialists. Who could possibly analyse the heart better than a Cardiologist, or the brain by a Neuroradiologist? A Total Body Scan has a duration of 3-4 hours. You will be given CD-Roms of the images made during the scan on the day of examination. You can have a telephone consultation with the GP within 24 hours of your examinations to discuss your results. You will receive hard copies of your reports within 2-3 days. The Total Body Scan was developed by, and is under the constant supervision of 28 medical specialists (and authorities in their own specific field), and the earlier mentioned Vienna Medical Scientific Board. The content of the examination programme is consistently tested and improved according to the latest criteria and developments in medical science. Prescan's Total Body Scan is rated with a 9 by The Times!

More information about MRI and CT scansDuring the Total Body Scan use is made of the MRI-scanner and, if deemed necessary the CT-scanner. If you have metal implants (e.g.pacemaker etc)in your body, you may not be eligible to undergo an MRI-scan. In that case the above mentioned MRI-scans will be substituted by an alternative method of examination. The ExtremitiesFrom a preventive point of view it is not recommended to have the arms and legs scanned. If you do happen to have complaints concerning your arms and legs we then suggest that you apply for a specific individual scan. We also offer specific scans for the joints and blood vessels of the arms and legs, which provide a more highly detailed picture than that of a general body scan. Patients who have a medical history concerning tumoursPrescan does not carry out control check-ups on patients who have previously had cancer.
